Provides the ability for local enforcement to upgrade, enhance, or replace mobile and/or portable radio communications and puts them in position to achieve interoperability through the State Law enforcement Radio System. The ability for public safety personnel to effectively coomunicate is critical for a day to day operation and ensures the safety of the officer and citizens. Further, first responders statewide have stated that the ability to effectively communicate with th epublic safety first responders is one of their top priorities and a necessary tool to ensure effective statewide response related to public safety natural disaster and domestics security events. |

Franklin county Public safety radio communication equipment has limited coverage within and outside the country and no ability to communicate with state or other local law enforcement personnel in times of statewide responses efforts tied to a natural disaster, domestic security event, or multi-agency jurisdictional public safety effort. In order to ensure public safety effort. In order to ensure public safety, Florida's Public Safety personnel must have the ability to effectively communicate with one another to ensure the most effective responses to public safety issues, natural disasters, and domestic security events. |
