CR 314 Bridge (aka Sharpes Ferry Bridge) Replacement

Requester: Mounir Bouyounes, PE County Engineer Organization: Marion County Board of County Commissioners

Project Title: CR 314 Bridge (aka Sharpes Ferry Bridge) Replacement Date Submitted 1/9/2006 4:28:06 PM

Sponsors: Argenziano, Baker, Lynn, Smith

Statewide Interest:
This bridge serves as one of 4 east west evacuation routes for the east half of Marion Co. and much of east Florida. As the east half of Marion Co. is the Ocala Natl. Florest, there are very few alternate routes available. This bridge is the immediate alternate for SR 40, but it cannot support SR 40's traffic. Failure to keep movement during an evacuation along these routes can be catastrophic.
