Statewide Interest: |
Manatee Rural Health Services, Inc. is uniquely positioned to provide quality health care services to all persons regardless of their economic status. We are the only full service health care center (within approximately 10 miles) that serves both the insured and uninsured in the area. We are the only private health care provider in the area that offers a sliding fee scale for services to the uninsured. Many of our patients are uninsured an have no payment method for office visits, medications, or diagnostic testing. Proper diagnosis through medical labs will enable clients to pay for treatment rather than diagnosis. |

Project Description: |
The organization currently operates 17 Community Health Care Centers in Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto, and Hardee Counties. Manatee Rural Health Services currently serves an active patient base of over 52,000 people per year and provides over 200,000 patient encounters per year. The funding spent by Manatee Rural Health Services on diagnostic expenses could be diverted to assist in providing patient treatment strategies such as medicines, pharmaceuticals, and therapies. Any resources provided for the cost of unfunded labs would free up monies for the treatment of patients. |
