Requester: Richard Hasko Organization: Department of Environmental Services

Project Title: State Road A-1-A Water Main Replacement Date Submitted 1/13/2006 1:52:41 PM

Sponsors: Atwater

Statewide Interest:
The main is over forty years old and it's deteriorated condition has resulted in reduced reliability relating to level of service of both drinking supply and fire protection. It's location under travel lanes of the heavily traveled scenic State Highway make connections and repairs inordinately time consuming and disruptive to both traffic and customers served by the main. Replacement of the water main is timed to precede a planned resurfacing and roadway improvement project to be performed by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), thus reducing projected costs by alleviating requirements for standard FDOT levels of roadway restoration.
