| Project Description: |
| A one-time capital investment will allow Goodwill to purchase a color textile printer for its State of Florida flag production operation. The equipment will be used to print flags, including the seal of the State of Florida, that is currently only made out of Florida. The equipment will be utilized as part of a plan to create a flag company that is part of a much larger plan to create new jobs and spur economic development in one of the poorest and highest unemployment areas in Florida. Within just a three-mile radius of Goodwill, some 267,000 people barely live on $10,845 per year - 32% below the poverty level. Goodwill through the new flag company will begin to manufacture and market flags in large volume on a national level, increasing its current $3.7 million in flag revenue to $5 million in a period of a few years. The flag company will employ at least 60 people with disabilities. |
