This project will address the critical shortage of nurses in the State of Florida and is in direct response to Governor Bush's plea for private institutions to help the State of Florida with the preparation of additional nurses and teachers.

Project Description:
Florida Southern College requests necessary funding to expand its nursing program to offer not only the RN to BSN and MS in Nursing degrees, but also to offer a four-year undergraduate generic nursing degree. The anticipated amount of start-up program costs is approximately $5 million . Florida Southern College respectfully requests $2 million for a facility to house laboratories, classrooms, and office space for additional nursing faculty.

Providing these facilities will allow Florida Southern College to help address the critical shortage of nurses in the State of Florida by graduating annually an additional 20 to 25 nurses.
