Project Description:
Marion County is implementing water and water resource storm water reuse optimization program. The county will have reclaimed water reuse at both its Silver Springs Shores wastewater treatment plant as well as its Stonecrest wastewater treatment plant. The Silver Springs Shores facility is one of the County's regional facilities while the Stonecrest facility is a sub-regional facility for Marion County. The Silver Springs regional plant site will provide 1.5MGD of reclaimed water to spur irrigational reuse to public access reuse standards for golf course reuse at Silver Springs Shores Golf and Country Club, Lake Diamond Golf Course, Spruce Creek South Golf Course. At Stone Crest 1MGD of reclaimed water reuse and .5MGD of storm water reuse will be developed also complimenting the Shores flows for an additional 1.5MGD of capability. The reuse plan includes from the Stonecrest wastewater treatment plant the Stonecrest Golf and Country Club will accomodate 500,000 gallons per day of reclaimed water, the Stonecrest Development will accomodate additional reclaimed reuse, the Spruce Creek South Golf Course will be accomodating approximately 300,000 gallons per day of reuse, additional reuse customers both along the US27/441 corridor and, ultimately supplementing the reuse at Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club with approximately 200,000GPD will be accomplished. Insufficient reclaimed water will be available for the irrigational needs such that storm water underdrains will be anticipated by the irrigation quality water customers. A total of 3,000,000 gallons per day of reclaimed water and storm water reuse will be integrated on the eastern side of the Marion County utility system for water resource enhancement. Marion County presently has or will have in excess of 10,000 utility cusotmers in this area for which a phased reclaimed water program will be provided.

Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? No

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
A total of 3,000,000 gallons per day of reclaimed wtaer and storm water reuse (2.5MGD in reclaimed water and .5MGD in storm water reuse) will be integrated on the eastern side of the Marion County utility system for water resource management.
