Project Description:
Develop a specialized Business Recovery Program for under-served, disadvantaged, and historically underutilized firms as identified in Section 3. The targeted firms will also have less than 10 employees with annual revenue of $500,000 or less, and ones that can demonstrate a loss of revenue, operating efficiencies, higher expenses and profitability as a result of the past Hurricanes. The Alliance will provide comprehensive and hands-on management and technical assistance, workforce development, and business planning, to include mentoring and advisory services, in an effort to aid these firms in rebuilding and growing their business enterprises. The Alliance will engage the services of accountants, lawyers, technology firms, marketing firms, risk management firms, and other business professionals to provide direct services pro bono or at nominal charges to be shared by the program and participant. Our agencys micro-loan programs and other business lending programs, which support working capital needs of small, minority, and micro enterprises, will supplement this program. $25,000 of grant proceeds will be used to aid firms with marketing, technology upgrades, training, and risk management.
