Project Description:
This improvement calls for adding two lanes as well as rehabilitating the two existing lanes. Will provide an alternative parallel (east-west) corridor to SR 50 in both Lake and Orange counties. This project will provide intermodal linkages, which is the primary means for long-distance movement of goods within the Central Florida region as well as markets in other states and counties. This improvement will serve national and international visitors who travel to, from, and within the area. Lake County Board of County Commissioners staff and the Orange County government recently completed a joint study to address the general mobility between southeast Lake County and southwest Orange County. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners approved the recommended phasing plan on March 6, 2000. The tested alternative has identified Hartwood Marsh Road as one of the necessary improvements in relieving congestion in the study area. This improvement will provide interregional transportation network connections.
