To furher reduce recidivism among, male, juvenile sex offenders who have successfully completed a treatment program by providing a 24-bed, residental, re-entry program that will include continuing education, vocational training, independent living, budget and financial management, training and hands-on work-related experience. this program will also protect victims who are often family members where re-unification with the family may not be the best option.

Project Description:
Funding for the Department of juvenile Justice to construct a 24-bed building on state owned land adjacent to the current 33-bed high-risk juvenile sex offender program in Daytona Beach. the current program is housed in a state-owned building that is operated through contract by Three Springs, Inc. The additional 24-bed building will operate as a re-entry transitional program for male juvenile sex offenders with a strong emphasis on vocational and job-employment skills.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Recidivism rate for non sexual offenses will be reduced from a current statewide rate of approximately 22% to a projected rate of less than 10%. The current recidivisim rate is based upon successful discharges from all juvenile sex offender programs who are tracked for one year after their discharge.
