Project Description: |
$270,000 is required to continue the Gap Funding Project to assist homeless individuals served by the 11th Judicial Circuit Criminal Mental Health Projects Jail Diversion Program. This proposal will maintain a self-replenishing pool of funds to provide immediate access to housing and behavioral health services for individuals with serious mental illnesses being released from jail and awaiting approval of entitlement benefits such as Social Security. Funding will provide access to the type of housing, support, and treatment services that are most likely to result in successful adaptation to community living and reduce the likelihood of subsequent recidivism to jail. |
