Project Title: Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant for the Annexation Areas Date Submitted 1/4/2008 9:09:31 AM

Statewide Interest:
The purpose of this Community Budget Request is to complete the preliminary engineering and procurement process for the construction of a 17.5 MGD R.O. Water Treatment Plant to serve the anticipated development in the newly annexed areas of the City. The water plant will allow for the orderly development of this area and permit Miami-Dade County to more effectively and efficiently to service adjacent areas by decreasing countywide demands on the Biscayne Aquifer and providing water service to these areas much sooner than anticipated by Miami-Dade County. It would also help Miami Dade County meet the conditions outlined in their recent 20-year Consumptive Use Permit issued to the County by the SFWMD.
