Project Description:
The Silver Springs Water Quality Improvement Project is a concerted effort by the Central Utility to replace existing older septic systems with central sewer in the geographical area immediately surrounding the Silver Springs water head, referred to by Marion County as the Springs Protection Area. Contamination from leaking systems affects the quality potable water statewide. This funding will be used to assist homeowners in this region who are unable to pay the full cost of connection. Funds shall be used to reduce the individual connection charges thereby, encouraging compliance and improving the quality of Silver Springs groundwater.
