Project Description:
The current water supply pipe line from the Earman River to the Villages retention pond has numerous leaks from the failure of its joints. The Villages engineering consultants have determined that the complete failure of this water supply line is imminent. As a result of the consultants review, the Village will abandon the existing pipe line and replace it by the process of directional boring. The project will also include the installation of a one-piece pipe line.

Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? No

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
This project will allow the Village to avoid the complete failure of the current pipe line which would result in the lose of a water supply from the Earman River. Losing this source of water would result in damage to Village-owned properties. By utilizing directional boring, one continuous piece of pipe will be used. This one-piece pipe will greatly reducing the possibility of future leaks and their associated repair costs. This project will improve the efficiency of water use in the Village, and continue this communitys efforts in water conservation and adherence to ongoing water restrictions.
