| Project Description: |
| We are requesting funding to construct an educational center and pavilion at the Morrison Springs Park, which is owned by DEP and managed by Walton County. This facility would provide children the opportunity to learn about the significance of the spring and the delicate balance of natural environment within the aquifer recharge area. The design of the facility has been completed and includes a 3,000 SF of open classroom space for local schools and youth groups. The pavilion will include educational kiosks that explain the local geology, hydrology, and flora and fauna that make Morrison Springs a special place. Morrison springs is a tributary of the Choctawhatchee River, which is listed as one of Florida�s Outstanding Waters by DEP. |
