Project Description: |
The project proposes to create a linear stormwater storage attenuation and water quality treatment facility with the existing rights of way of Ten Mile Canal (Former IDD Railroad) by modifying/filling that portion South of Hanson Street and creating an excavated section for the portion North of Hanson Street. The project also proposed to install a weir/control structure within the existing Ten Mile Canal section near the intersection of Carrel Road. |
|
Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? |
No |
|
Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The facility will also work in conjunction with the proposed weir/control structures for Manual's Branch and Carrel Canal upstream of Royal Palm Avenue to attenuate and enhance water quality of stormwater flows from those portions of the watersheds encompassing the Fowler commercial corridor and easterly industrial areas. This will further improve the overall water quality and attenuate flows downstream so as to reduce the peaking effects of past urbanization and storm sewering practices. |
