The proposed Child Welfare-Juvenile Justice Advocacy Program is intended to remedy the failure of dually dependent and delinquent youth to benefit from existing community resources and too often plummet into repeated and serious juvenile justice involvement. Working with Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Broward Sheriffs Office (BSO), State Attorneys Office (SAO) and Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) staff at the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) the Advocate will immediately identify at risk and delinquent dependent youth who have been brought to the JAC by law enforcement officers for either law violations or truancy. |

Project Description: |
Funding to support ChildNets Child Welfare-Juvenile Justice Advocacy Program is intended to address the issue of dually dependent and delinquent youth in Broward County. Foster children will better benefit from existing community resources rather than plummet into repeated and serious juvenile justice involvement. |
