The purpose of the request is to prevent infiltration of stormwater into the sewer line and to also prevent sewer water from exfiltrating into the surface waters that enters Ochlocknee Bay by way of Vote Creek-Cox Ccreek-Lake Talquin-Ochlocknee River. Replacement of the deteriorating old clay sewer pipe will protect the water and public health of the City of Quincy and Gadsden County residents and adjacents waters. This project is in a Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern. |

Project Description: |
Aging and deterirating clay sewer pipe have caused overloading of the treated sewerage at the treatment plant, this request is to allow the City to conduct a study and identify the locations and the length of pipe involved prior to replacement. Smoke detection tests will be conducted at the suspected locations all over the sewer conveyance system in the City. |
