Statewide Interest:
Homelessness has significant economic impacts on the business community, tax payers and the critical tourism industry. This project will provide access to mainstream federal benefits which will help homeless to gain self sufficiency. The project will also provide research data that advises policy makers as to the cost effectiveness of intervening with this population and increases the likelihood that other grant sources will fund continued operation and/or expansion of the program.

Project Description:
Mainstream benefits application assistance for homeless in Volusia and Flagler to connect clients with assistance that will help end their homeless condition. Providing qualified assistance in the application process will increase likelihood of approval with the first application and thus shorten the timeline that clients are homeless thus saving the tax payers dollars. Two FTE staff positions will allow service to 300 individuals who are families with children and/or medically needy.
