Statewide Interest: |
Rural Economic Development Community, Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern. Centralized drinking water capacity in an rural area with serious drought concerns and growth demands for future. Low income community(small cities and over 50% low-to-moderate income (LMI) as defined by HUD). Public drinking water well protection zones. The Town is not economically able to keep up with changing regulations, growth and emergency situations(drought). Town alreday obtains any grants and low interest loans if can for these needs. Town is pooling grant resources and partnering with developers to implement reuse water to save resources. Economic development partnerships are made whenever possible to share cost and bring job creation and investment. The Town is already tapping every traditional resource. Our LMI citizens need a cost share of at least $1,350,000 to buy down the cost of these improvements enough to keep facilities affordable and in pace with all the different needs. |
