Describe, specifically, how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings:
Specific percentages for contaminate load reductions was not calculated in the previous stormwater study. However, anticipated environmental benefits include: improved water quality, involving water clarity and dissolved oxygen increased tidal flow restoration of the bayou bottom to coarser sediments The dredging can also be considered a flood relief project. Dredging will deepen the storage capacity of reservoirs subject to siltation which can be maintained by dredging. The deeper water will improve navigation of the bayous. The navigational dredging is the periodic removal of sediment deposited in the deepened channels. Maintenance dredging is a necessity for almost every navigable waterway and port in the world. Parker and Pitts Bayous are no different.
