Project Description:
Through investigation, medical treatment, child advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, therapy, training, education and prevention, Kids House is working to break the cycle of violence so often seen with incidents of child abuse and neglect. Focusing attention on the diverse needs of abuse victims and ensuring they receive the investigative, advocacy, medical and mental health services needed for true healing to take place will allow victims to overcome their personal trauma and become healthy adults. The timely, professional and efficient delivery of these core services is necessary for healing to take place and to avert/prevent negative outcomes that are the result of victims not receiving appropriate care. Those negative outcomes could include drug and alcohol abuse, poor school performance, low self esteem, violence, delinquency and in many instances gross sexual misconduct.
