Project Description:
This project will continue and improve Gateway Connect (formerly 1-800-WAIT-NOT) by facilitating a partnership with Operation PAR to create a centralized screening assessment center. Gateway Connect is an ongoing telephonic and internet based substance abuse screening, GAIN assessment, and treatment program with a proven track record of superior services for less money. Operation PAR is a highly regarded substance abuse treatment facility which maintains a high capacity call-in center. The use of the Gateway Connect operations model through Operation PAR�s high capacity call-in center will dramatically increase the number of clients served and thus compound the savings realized.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
At least 4,800 callers will be screened for a substance abuse problem within 5 hours of initial contact. At least 75% of those clients needing a screening and/or an assessment will receive and evidence-based comprehensive screening and/or assessment within 24 hours. There will be a 50% cost savings for screenings and assessments in the two targeted regions after the second year of implementation
