Project Description:
The Putnam County Stormwater Master Plan identifies the need for one foot topographical contours of the County to facilitate drainage system analysis, flood analysis and protection, analysis of development impacts, and drainage system construction project development. The Plan also provided an overview of the County�s drainage basins in order to prioritize the detailed studies required in each basin. Finally, the Plan identified a number of construction projects required to improve the storm water system. In order to accomplish these tasks, Putnam County is requesting $3 million dollars for the aerial contour mapping. The results the mapping will be shared with, and benefit, other agencies in addition to Putnam County, such as the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Putnam County is also requesting $2 million dollars to allow detailed studies of several of the priority drainage basins in the County. Putnam County is also requesting $1 million dollars to facilitate the design and construction of a portion of the projects identified in the Plan. These projects will improve the drainage system and should improve the overall water quality in the area.

The results the studies will be shared with, and benefit, other agencies in addition to Putnam County, such as the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. These projects will improve the drainage system and should improve the overall water quality in the area.
