Project Description:
Lower Floridian Exploratory/Observation/Monitoring Well-It has been determined by the St Johns River Water Management District that there will not be sufficient fresh water available to serve the projected population of Palm Coast and the surrounding area and that alternative water sources must be utilized to sustain growth in the future. A cooperative stakeholder study showed that desalinization would be the most viable source for the region. Palm Coast proposes to construct one or two exploratory/observation/monitoring wells into the lower Floridian to conduct Aquifer Performance Testing to determine the feasibility of utilizing the Lower Floridian as a source-water and to provide data for groundwater modeling of the Lower Floridian.
