Project Description:
The Alliance for Human Services seeks seed monies to further the development and establishment of community-wide and accessible information technologies for human services indicator data and information. We seek to develop the mechanisms, both technologically and with personnel, to employ information technologies, including geographic information systems, that will assist governmental, nonprofit, and community agencies/organizations and local decision makers in their planning, decision-making, and programmatic evaluations on human services initiatives in Miami-Dade County.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The monitoring of community trends and acting as a catalyst for positive change; promote greater human service coordination and integration of services; build capacity and organize "at-risk" communities and neighborhoods where and how to target resources to address negative indicator trends. Stakeholders in targeted neighborhoods (nonprofit organizations, religious groups, neighborhood associations, etc.) can use information themselves to address community needs directly, both individually and/or in ways that are more comprehensive in scope; use information to map community assets; and inform policy choices.
