| It would provide desperately needed adequate shelter space for the mandatory evacuation of nearby coastal areas and area residents/visitors, as evidenced from recent hurricanes. This project is located in a Rural Area of Critical Economic Concern, as designated by the Governor, pursuant to Chapter 288.0656. It would provide space as an Exhibition Bldg during the Okeechobee County Fair. A permanent building that is climate control is on the Master Plan for the facility, that was prepared by Bullock & Smith, Fair Planners, Knoxville, TN. The building would generate revenue for Okeeechobee County to assist in the maintenance of the Agri-Civic Center & Fairgrounds. Additionally, it would provide much needed rental space to the people that is not available in this county. This project would be an economic stimulus to Okeechobee County. |
