This project furthers the statewide interest by reducing the nuisance and damages due to flooding. It provides for a more efficient reduction of surface water pollution, decreases potential for bacterial and mosquitoes growth from standing water and is consistent with (ch373, F.S. & ch 403,F.S.).

Project Description:
There is no stormwater drainage system on the targeted street. Simple rainy events cause major flooding. The standing water fosters pollution of the surrounding environment such as: mosquitoes and possible contamination from flooded adjacent sanitary sewer water. In addition to the nuisance, this adverse condition impacts traffic safety and local small business operators.
