Project Description:
The City of Port Orange intends to dredge 30,000 cubic yards of muck and pollutants from the B-23 Canal which flows into Rose Bay, an OFW. This project is the last element of a 5 Point Restoration Plan the City, Volusia County, St. Johns River Water Management District, US Army Corps of Engineers, and FDOT have partnered on since 1998. Completion of this segment will keep the material from flowing back into the Bay after its restoration. Already, Port Orange has expended $20 Million on other elements of the restoration plan. Permits are in hand for the spoil site and permits for the dredging are pending.
