1997 Florida Statutes
30.01 Bond of sheriffs; small counties.--In each county of the state, having a population of 150,000 or less according to the last state census, the sheriff shall, before being commissioned, give bond in a penalty which shall not be less than $200 nor more than $10,000, to be fixed by the board of county commissioners of the county, payable to the Governor of the state and the Governor's successors in office, with two or more good and sufficient sureties to be approved by the board of county commissioners, and to be filed with and approved by the Department of State, which said bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office.
