Tandem trailer equipment and use.
316.611 Tandem trailer equipment and use.--The Department of Transportation shall adopt rules to regulate tandem trailer truck equipment and use in the interest of safety, public convenience, and preservation of public road facilities. The rules shall apply according to their terms to all jurisdictions of the state except the 1Florida Turnpike. Such rules shall be enforced by the Department of Transportation, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and local authorities.

1Note.--Section 8, ch. 98-423, provides that:
"Ronald Reagan Turnpike designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--
"(1) The Florida Turnpike consisting of the 312 contiguous miles of limited-access toll highway stretching from Florida City, where South Dade County meets the Florida Keys, continuing northward through 11 counties, including the greater metropolitan areas of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, and ending at a junction with Interstate 75 in North Central Florida is hereby designated as the 'Ronald Reagan Turnpike.'
"(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect suitable markers designating the 'Ronald Reagan Turnpike' as described in subsection (1)."
