Animal parts, fats, byproducts, waste products, vegetable oils disposal.
403.7085 Animal parts, fats, byproducts, waste products, vegetable oils disposal.--A commercial establishment, excluding an establishment licensed pursuant to chapter 509, that processes food products for human consumption may not dispose of any animal parts, fats, byproducts, waste products, or vegetable oils, liquid or solid, in a landfill unless approved by the department. The department may establish by rule appropriate thresholds or amounts for these materials, as well as additional subcategories of these materials, that are exempt from this requirement. In making a determination for exemption the department shall find that such an exemption is not likely to be harmful to the public health, safety, or welfare.
