Incorporation or annexation of district.
190.047 Incorporation or annexation of district.--
(1) Upon attaining the population standards for incorporation contained in s. 165.061, any district wholly contained within the unincorporated area of a county shall hold a referendum on the question of whether to incorporate. However, any district contiguous to the boundary of a municipality may be annexed to such municipality pursuant to the provisions of chapter 171.
(2) The Department of Community Affairs shall annually monitor the status of the district for purposes of carrying out the provisions of this section.
