Proceeds of insurance to be paid into State Treasury; disbursement of funds.
255.03 Proceeds of insurance to be paid into State Treasury; disbursement of funds.--
(1) The proceeds from the insurance of any state building or state property covered by insurance which may be destroyed in whole or in part by fire, or other damage, shall be paid into the State Treasury and constitute a fund for the rebuilding or replacing of such property, and the Comptroller may draw his or her warrant on the State Treasurer for such amounts, not to exceed the proceeds so paid in, as may be approved by the board or persons having the direct supervision and control of such buildings or property for the purpose of rebuilding or replacing the same.
(2) The provisions of this section shall not apply to proceeds received from insurance carried by a lessee of a donated building which was under lease at the time of donation and is not to be replaced. Such proceeds received by a board or agency of the state may be used by that board or agency for any purpose or function authorized by law.
