Section 403.7871, Florida Statutes 2001

403.7871  Public meetings.--

(1)  At the request of any affected local government, the department shall conduct one public meeting regarding the certification application to assure that there is substantial input from the affected community in order to:

(a)  Receive public input on matters within the jurisdiction of the local government; and

(b)  Formulate recommendations with respect to the project.

(2)  If more than one local government requests that a public meeting be conducted as specified in this section, scheduling shall be coordinated such that only one public meeting will be held.

(3)  The public meeting held pursuant to this section shall be held in a locality affected by the proposed project.
