—The secretary is authorized to designate persons holding law enforcement certification within the Office of the Inspector General as law enforcement officers, as necessary, to enforce any criminal law, and conduct any criminal investigation that relates to state-operated programs or state-operated facilities over which the department has jurisdiction. Persons designated as law enforcement officers must be certified pursuant to s. 943.1395.
