Senator Linda Stewart Encourages Families With Pets To Avoid Walking Along Shoreline Of Lakes

ORLANDO, Fla. – State Senator Linda Stewart Senator (D-Orlando), stated today “In an abundance of caution, it is that time of year we all need to take precautionary steps to protect our families especially our children and furry loved ones.”

Senate district 13 contains many lakes which are natural homes to American Alligators. It is important that individuals in Orange County take the appropriate precautionary measures to protect themselves and their pets this summer. Due to the large number of lake habitats in District 13, Alligator sightings may increase throughout the district. The attached document contains important information on the American Alligator and Florida Black Bear. Also included are contact numbers and information from The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
