Renovation of the 1978 Senate Chamber
Following the adjournment of the 2016 Legislative Session, the 1978 Senate Chamber underwent a historic renovation. Prior to the renovation, only minimal updates, including those necessary to accommodate changes in technology, had been made since the original construction. A ceremonial opening of the renovated Senate Chamber took place on November 21, 2016. The renovated Senate Chamber incorporates several historical elements as well as new features designed to improve accessibility for people with unique abilities.
