HB 1967: Health Insurance

GENERAL BILL by Health Care Services ; Albright ; Geller ; Arnall ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Casey ; Bloom ; Peaden ; Heyman ; Rodriguez-Chomat ; Byrd ; Flanagan ; Goode ; Littlefield ; Lynn ; Crist

Health Insurance; prohibits insurer from imposing certain limitations on benefits, coverage, or reimbursement re maternity care; requires insurer that provides individual coverage to renew or continue coverage; provides for guaranteed availability of health insurance coverage to eligible individuals; prohibits insurer or HMO from declining coverage for eligible individuals or imposing preexisting conditions, etc. Amends Chs. 627, 641.

Effective Date: Upon becoming law except as otherwise provided
