CS/HB 2013: Judicial Nominating Commissions
GENERAL BILL by Judiciary ; Brummer ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Byrd ; Kelly
Judicial Nominating Commissions; provides for appointment of members to each judicial nominating commission; prohibits judges from serving; restricts appointment of members & former members to judicial offices for certain time period; requires appointing authorities to seek to ensure racial, ethnic, gender, & geographical diversity of membership; requires consideration of county representation on circuit judicial nominating commissions, etc. Creates 43.291; repeals 43.29. APPROPRIATION: $25,000.
