CS/HB 767: Structured Settlements

GENERAL BILL by Insurance ; Brown ; Ross

Structured Settlements; provides requirements for direct or indirect transfer of structured settlement payment rights; requires court approval of any such transfer; authorizes interested party to file objection to proposed transfer; requires that obligor make certain disclosures to claimant in negotiating settlement of claims; requires transferee to provide certain notice re proposed transfer of structured settlement payment rights, etc.
