CS/CS/SB 1964: Wrongful Incarceration Act
GENERAL BILL by Criminal Justice ; Judiciary ; Webster ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Haridopolos ; Lynn ; Posey
Wrongful Incarceration Act; creates "Wrongful Incarceration Compensation Act"; requires courts to determine whether certain persons are wrongfully incarcerated persons; authorizes petitions to court for determination of wrongful conviction; authorizes compensation for certain wrongfully incarcerated persons; requires settlement offer & provides for recovery of certain fees & costs; provides procedures to apply to Attorney General, etc. Creates 961.01-.05.
