CS/HB 529: Juvenile Defendants/Public Defender
GENERAL BILL by Meadows
Juvenile Defendants/Public Defender; requires that public defender represent indigent child taken into custody for felony, misdemeanor, or criminal contempt; requires that child be given meaningful opportunity to confer with counsel; provides that parents or legal guardian shall not be liable for fees, charges, or costs upon finding by court that parent or legal guardian is victim of offense, etc. Amends 27.51, 985.203.
