CS/SB 278: Lifeguards/Assault or Battery [LPCC]

GENERAL BILL by Criminal Justice ; Rich ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Wilson ; Bennett ; Lynn ; Crist

Lifeguards/Assault or Battery [LPCC]; Defines "lifeguard" as a lifeguard employed along the coastal or intracoastal beaches and shores of the state, or other bodies of water of the state, or at swimming pools to help prevent injury or drowning of persons. Provides enhanced penalties for an assault or battery on a lifeguard while he or she is engaged in the lawful performance of his or her duties. Amends the offense severity ranking chart to include firefighter, intake officer, etc.
