SB 464: Assault or Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer

GENERAL BILL by Latvala

Assault or Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer; Requires the Department of Law Enforcement to issue a blue alert if a law enforcement officer has been killed, suffered serious bodily injury, or been assaulted and the suspect has fled the scene, or if a law enforcement officer is missing while in the line of duty. Requires that the blue alert be disseminated on the emergency alert system through television, radio, and highway signs. Provides that emergency traffic information may take precedence over blue alert information.
