Interpreters for Individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf-Blind; Creates Board of Interpreters for Deaf, Hard of Hearing & Deaf-Blind within DBPR; authorizes board to adopt rules; requires licensure of professional interpreters for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind; establishes fees for applications, licenses, license renewal, & administration; provides requirements for licensure, license by endorsement, license renewal, continuing education, & provisional license; provides that licensee must have active license to engage professionally as interpreter; provides for election of license status and requirements to change status; requires DBPR to provide certain notice to licensee by specified time; prohibits certain acts & provides penalties; prohibits use of public funds to employ unlicensed interpreter; prohibits certain employment or subcontracting of unlicensed interpreter.
