HB 1439: Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders

Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders; Revises minimum standards for mobile crisis response service; requires that individualized treatment plan be reevaluated within specified timeframe to ensure recommended care remains necessary for patient; requires service provider to provide patient with certain medication for specified timeframe upon discharge from certain treatment facilities; requires that assessment services be reevaluated at specified intervals to ensure patient's clinical needs are being met; revises such assessment services' evaluations & screening areas; revises duties of Criminal Justice, Mental Health, & Substance Abuse Technical Assistance Center at Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute at USF; requires DCF, in consultation with AHCA, to conduct review every other year to identify certain counties that require additional resources for short-term residential treatment facilities; requires DCF, in consultation with DOE, to conduct review every other year to identify effective models of school-based behavioral health access.
