Bond of circuit court clerks, large counties.
28.02 Bond of circuit court clerks, large counties.--In each county of the state, having a population in excess of 150,000 according to the last state census, the clerk of the circuit court shall, before being commissioned, give bond in a penalty which shall not be less than $5,000 nor more than $100,000 to be fixed by the board of county commissioners of the county, payable to the Governor of the state and his or her successors in office, with two or more good and sufficient sureties to be approved by the board of county commissioners, and to be filed with and approved by the Department of State, which said bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful discharge of the duties of office.
