Project Description:
The proposal provides continued funding for a 25 bed adolescent residential substance abuse treatment facility. The Compass Center is the only program that provides treatment for adolescent abusing substances in this area. This facility offers intensive moderate term substance abuse treatment for adolescents. The Compass Center offers residential substance abuse treatment for adolescentsmales, ages 13-17 years. The program will accept males with co-occurring psychiatirc disorders.The program is voluntary and the average length of stay is six months. Treatment components include: Individual and Group Counseling; Substance Abuse Education; School Program;Recreation/Leisure Skills Activities; 12 Step groups(AA/NA);Aftercare Services. Family participation is an important aspect of successful treatment of substance abuse. Compass Center provides individual family counseling and multi-family group counseling and education.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Coastal Behavioral Healthcare adheres to the performance outcome measures set by the state, following the data collection and submission requirements of the state. We are required to comply with the report data on established programmatic and client outcome objectives that provide point-in-time data that will measure program effectiveness. Additionally, CBH follows standards set by our accrediting organization, the Joint Commission on Accredidation of Healthcare Organizations, and utilizes the Customer Satisfaction Survey process through Mental Health Corporations of America.
