Project Description:
The project consists of the restoration of approximately 50 acres of diverse wetland habitat, in conjunction with the construction of a new water reclamation facility. The project will be located in Bonita Springs just east of Interstate 75, approximately 1 mile north of Terry Street. Treated effluent will be used to assure that an appropriate wetland hydroperiod can be maintained. Recreational and educational features, such as boardwalks and interpretive signage, are also planned to further the benefits this project will provide to the community.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Completed project will restore approximately 50 acres of degraded wetlands to a healthy, diverse wetland ecosystem. Secondary environmental benefits include aquifer recharge and water quality improvement. Public recreation and environmental education features (boardwalks, interpretive signage, etc.) will be installed to maximize the tangible benefits to the community.
